Description

So I made this little thing 'cause maybe it'll help someone?

I didn't write in steps on the pic because I felt it'll be too long, but I'll write them here. Hopefully, I don't suck too badly at explaining them.

So let's see how this goes.

My steps go:

1. Draw Your Eyes!: Keep the Iris and the lines of the eyes on two separate layers. It's all usually done in one colour that'll be changed later.

Have three layers to start:

1. The eye lines, lashes and such.
2. The Iris
3. The sclera - whites of the eyes.

2. Change the colour of your eyes, just the iris.

3. Make a new layer and set it on 'clipping group' then take a darker shade and draw the "pupil" and the rest of the shade?

4. Make a new layer and set it on 'clipping group' and using the same colour and set your layer to 'shade' cover the entire iris then with a smaller sized brush erase a circle at the bottom - if you find your shade is too dark lower the opacity, here mine is at 67%

5. Same as before, New layer, 'clipping group' and now set your layer to 'Luminosity' take a lighter shade and your airbrush tool and dab on some at the every top of the eyes in the darkest part, blur / blend it to smooth it out. I don't like for my eyes too be too light there, just a touch. Opacity is at 20% here. Either, make a new layer or keep it on your same layer and make a little circle in the lightest part.

6. New layer, 'clipping group' - Set your layer on 'Luminosity' and with a lighter shade of your original colour make shines for your eyes. And y'er done with the iris!

7. Change your attention from the Iris and lets work on the sclera! New layer, 'clipping group' Take your original colour and on your colour wheel drag it over to the towards the greyish area, don't get too grey now so make sure there's still some hint of the colour you're using and shade the sclera.

8. It doesn't look like much of a change, but take your same colour and with a new layer in a 'clipping group' and set to 'multiply' or 'shade' (mine is on shade) and give the it a slight gradient, blend or blur it in then lower the opacity. Mine is lowered to 58%.  Now you're done with the sclera!

9. Focus on the lines! Using your colour picker grab the darkest colour you can find on the iris. Then on the colour wheel drag it down to a darker shade, try to stray away from a plain old black. - Here is where I tend to end it, but if you like continue to step ten.

10. Garnish! Add some more eye lashes and create a new layer, of course, make it clip and using a lighter shade or your original shade take your airbrush and give the ends of your lines some light. Blend or blur it in at both sides until your satisfied and then you're done!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial of how I colour in my eyes! I hope it helps and is easy to understand. Thank you for viewing and have a nice day!
